 LINER NOTES

When Hugh Fordin asked me to do an album we sat down to try to come up with a hook. He was a fan of some of my older records: "It Might As Well Be Spring," "That Old Black Magic" and "Moonlight In Vermont." So, we decided it would be fun to give those songs a contemporary treatment. We also talked about doing some of the great standards. And we wanted to include some new songs. Because of my penchant for finding new songwriters we had many to choose from. But, we also talked about having a guest artist who would join me on a few songs. Our choice was our good friend Gerry Mulligan. I hope this album gives you as much joy as it did me as we were making it. And we sure did!

Love,
Margaret Whiting
